METRODOME DISTRIBUTION ACQUIRES LEBANON
AIM-listed distributor METRODOME has partnered with Rialto Distribution to acquire UK, Eire & Australia / NZ rights for ‘LEBANON’. For Metrodome the deal was negotiated by CEO Peter Urie, General Manager - Distribution Sara Frain and Head of Acquisitions James Brown, with Violaine Pichon for sales agent Celluloid Dreams, and with Kelly Rogers of Rialto Pictures, which will see them release the film in Australia and New Zealand.
METRODOME DISTRIBUTION picks up the title following an enthusiastic reception following its screenings at the Venice Film Festival, where it played in competition.
'LEBANON' is by first-time writer / director Samuel Maoz, and is based on his real life experiences. The film centres on four soldiers who become trapped in an immobilised tank deep in enemy territory during the Lebanon War.
Sara Frain, General Manager - Distribution of METRODOME, says:
"We are thrilled to be one of the first territories to sign Lebanon, which we are sure will be a big hit on the festivals and awards circuit."
METRODOME DISTRIBUTION will release 'LEBANON' into UK cinemas in Spring 2010.
